Portable Clock Services

(Carriage Clock and Ship's Clocks)

Portable clocks include all clocks with balance wheels.  Usually, thes clocks employ a lever escapement with a bimetalic balance.  Such clocks inlude ships clocks (Chelsea, Seth Thomas, etc,) French carriage clocks and high grade desk and alarm clocks like those made by LeCoultre.

All of these clocks require to be service like a precision watch.  The pivots MUST be checked and renewed, the jewel holes checked and the escapement adjusted for wear.  In addition, many of these clocks have additional features (striking, repeating, or alarms).  Finally, French Carriage clocks must have all sttel work and brass polished since part of their appeal is the presentation of the movement in the glass paneled case.

Marine Clocks

Time Only                  $275

Time and Strike         $335

 

French Clocks (Includes all polish and blueing work on movement)

Time only                        $375

Time and Alarm              $425

Time Strike and  Alarm  $500

Grand Sonnerie                $625

In addition, I offer dial resilvering using the traditional techniques and  real silver.  The cost is $85.
